A concrete walkway can be a great addition to your property, and the thickness of the surface will depend on what you’ll use it for. More specifically, if you are going to be walking on the walkway every day with regular shoes then a thickness of ¾” is recommended; however, if you plan only to use it once or twice per year and want good traction when doing so then less than ½” would suffice.

You can get away with less surface area as long as there is enough depth for adequate foot traffic though some people prefer thicker walks that allow more space between feet while they’re walking. The best way to determine how much material needed is by analyzing the level of foot traffic in an area before deciding how much to order.
